" Jamia Urdu Held Seminar on International Status of Urdu Language "
 " Urdu Lovers of Mauritius Honoured "

Shehzad Abdulla Ahmed , President of Urdu Speaking Union , Mauritious today said that languages do not have religion. In Mauritius, we are promoting Urdu and providing Urdu education to more than 13,000 persons.
 
Ahmed was speaking at a seminar, " Popularity of Urdu Language and Its Global Status" organised by the Jamia Urdu Aligarh.
Anwar Dustmohammed, Secretary of Urdu Speaking Union , Mauritious said that the Urdu language should not be linked with one pariticular religion . He added that  to develop and popularise Urdu language , a focused movement must be launched.
 
Earlier welcoming the guests , Farhat Ali Khan , OSD , Jamia Urdu Aligarh said with the passage of time , the Urdu language has taken over not only middle east countries but Europe also .

Presiding over the seminar , Professor Emiruts of AMU Prof . Farhatulla Khan said that the positive role of Urdu language in our freedom struggle and achieving social unity are well documented in the history .He reminded that Indian films and even dramas and songs are incomplete without Urdu . Prof . Khan called upon people to provide Urdu education to their children .
Member AMU Court Prof . Humayun Murad said that the SP government of Uttar Pradesh had declared Urdu language as second language of the state . It must recognise and establish Urdu medium schools .
