BRITISH COUPLE FOUND DEAD IN A HOTEL ROOM

Dead bodies of a British couple
were found in a hotel room, near Taj Mahal early today.
Police said preliminary inquiries
suggest "its case of overdose of drugs."
SSP Shalabh Mathur told media
persons "it appears the two were dead Monday night itself, as the food they had
ordered had not been eaten." The British High Commission had been informed in
the morning.
Police said the boy 28 years has
been identified as James Oliver and the 24 year old girl as Alexendra Nichola
Gaskel, from their passports. The two had come to India on July 11. They came to
Agra on October 18 and stayed at Residency hotel. They shifted to another hotel
Maya close to the Taj Mahal on October 20.
Tuesday morning when there was no
response from their room, the hotel staff informed the police. The bodies were
sent for post mortem at SN Medical College.
SSP said only after the report of
the post mortem the cause of their death would be established. Police found
stress relieving and sleeping pills from the room.
