CLEAN INDIA MESSAGE ON TAJ TICKETS

Agra October 20 (IANS)

Entrance tickets to the 17th century monument of love visited by thousands of tourists each day, now are being stamped with prime minister Narendra Modi's Clean India message.

At the initiative of the Archaeological Survey of India, the initiative was launched Sunday evening by local BJP Lok Sabha member Ram Shankar Katheria who said the "message of cleanliness has to be disseminated far and wide," and a momentum imparted to the current drive.

Katheria said the Taj was the pride of India. "Daily more than 20,000 people visit the Taj. If they go back with a good impression about cleanliness around monuments and our passion for health and hygiene, it will be a good promotional effort."

ASI chief NK Pathak said this little step could help in a big way to boost the cleanliness drive.

A large number of tourist guides, officials and political workers were present at the programme, held at the western gate of the Taj Mahal.
