Agra October 20
(IANS)
Acid attack victims have opened a
hang out coffee shop for activists, supporters and civil society members on
Fatehabad Road, close to the Taj Mahal.
Named "She-roes cafe" it is
being run by Chanchal, Ritu, Rupa and Geeta, on "pay what you wish"
basis.
The initiative is part of the Stop
Acid Attack Campaign, said Alok Dixit. Sunday evening Mumbai's Gulabi Gang
leader Sampat Pal cut the ceremonial cake to announce the cafe's opening.
Similar cafes are to be shortly
opened in Kanpur and Delhi.
The Agra hang out is supported by
a local NGO Chaanv, said Aseem Trivedi.
Talking to reporters Sampat Pal
said acid attackers should be shaved off and publicly thrashed.
