Aligarh
November 19
Leading
Hindi and Urdu writers today made a fervent appeal to avoid politics while
promoting languages. They said society should not be divided over languages.
Shambhu
Nath Tiwari, of the department of Hindi, Aligarh Muslim University said Hindi
and Urdu were both born in India and both were equally popular and used by the
masses. He said both were incomplete without each other. Tiwari said that
Indian films can not be imagined without Urdu. He said that languages are means
of communication in society which brings social unity.Hence no attempt must be
made to divide society in the name of languages.
Hindi and
Urdu should not be taken up by two different views because the words of these
languages are so mixed up that their separation will kill them, according to
senior story writer , critic and former Chairman of Hindi department of Jamia
Milia Islamia New Delhi Prof. Abdul Bismillah. He was addressing a seminar
on "
Hindi - Urdu Ka Aapsi Rishta - Kitne Door Kitne Paas ( Inter Relationship of
Hindi & Urdu - Distances and Closeness Between them ) organised by the
Jamia Urdu Aligarh today.
Speaking
as Chief Guest, he said that there are many words like Kursi ,Nazar , Surahi and
Sabun which can not be confined to Hindi or Urdu. He pointed out that politics
should not be played with languages . He said that Hindi and Urdu are two eyes
of India .
Earlier,
Farhat Ali Khan OSD of Jamia Urdu Aligarh said

is need to change the languages also according to times and needs as those who
did not take up reform and change lag behind others. There is a dire need to
include modern technical words in Hindi and Urdu. Farhat Ali Khan also
emphasized upon the translation of Hindi literature in Urdu and vice versa and
said that it will bring unity and communal harmony in society.
Presiding
over the seminar , Prof. Razaullah Khan said that in fact Hindi and Urdu are
very close to each other but it is also a fact that some political parties have
misused languages for political goals and divided the society in their name. He

words are used in Hindi and Urdu so that they remain languages of
