NO CLUE AS YET TO BANK DACOITY IN CHAUMUHAN
Mathura Nov. 23, 2014
Even before the sensational bank
dacoity in Chaumuhan could be worked out, armed bandits today looted Rs 1.5
lakhs from traders in a Scorpio, in the same area close to Jait police
outpost.
Police said the case was being
looked into. Officials said patrolling on the highway had been intensified.
Two days ago the Syndicate Bank
branch was looted and armed bandits decamped with Rs 26 lakhs.
Three teams are still looking for
clues. Shopkeepers in Chaumuhan are terrified and reluctant to carry on their
business.
Three teams led by CO Refinery Dr
Ajay Pal Singh, CO Sadar Preeti Priyadarshini and CO Chaata Atul Kumar Srivastav
are engaged in analysing and monitoring movement of suspected gangs involved in
similar crimes in the past. Record has been sought from the district jail of
accused in the February 17 Canara Bank heist in Kosi, and August 13, 2013 Dhauli
Pyaoo post office break in. Police teams are also examining information from
Agra, Hathras, Aligarh and Firozabad police of various gangs operating in the
region. Meanwhile SSP Manzil Saini has sent five SHO Vrindavan, Jait chowki
incharge, a sub inspector and two constables to the police lines.
Talking to TOI, Manzil Saini said
"these people had not been doing even basic policing work. The banks had not
been visited, guards not checked. I had to take a tough
step."
