FAKE  RAW  AGENT  NABBED IN MATHURA

Police took into custoday a fake RAW official, his car and the driver after his lie was nailed in cross verification with the RAW headquarters.

 

Police said a person named Navneet Rana claiming to be additional secretary in the RAW reached Mathura Kotwali and demanded to know why Rajesh Taunta, who in his opinion was innocent and had nothing to do with the Brajesh Maavi murder had been arrested. He wanted Taunta to be released immediately.

 

When officials asked him for his identity and his visiting card, he started name dropping and avoided the searching questions which made the CO city suspicious. The local intelligence unit immediately contacted RAW headquarters which informed there was no such person on their staff. ASP Preeti Priyadarshini inquired from his brother in Noida, who told her that the person in Mathura was a fraud.

 

Taunta, alias Rajesh is the chief accused in the Brajesh Maavi murder two months ago in Hathras.

 

Police said the Navneet Rana, now in police custody speaking English fluently tried to impress and build pressure on the local officials to get Taunta released. A case has been filed and investigations are on.
